The man behind the blockbuster Punjabi flick 'Maula Jatt', Younis Malik has passed away after a cardiac arrest on Wednesday.
Reportedly, the director has been suffering from paralysis and had heart ailment. A large number of people from the showbiz fraternity attended his funeral.
The legendary filmmaker has played a significant role in the development of cinema in Pakistan – giving a boost to violence-ridden cinema by making a Punjabi masterpiece Maula Jatt starring ace performers Sultan Rahi and Mustafa Qureshi. Following the record-breaking success of the film Rahi’s name was included in Guinness Book of World Records.
Owing to the popularity of Malik’s directorial project Maula Jatt the new age filmmaker Bilal Lashari has announced a remake of movie starring Hamza Ali Abbasi.
Apart from making great movies the director also has a credit of introducing film actresses Neeli and Nadra in his film Akhari Jung.
The pioneer of gandassa culture has over 100 movies at his credit including Mastana Mahi, Jeera Sain, Ziddi Jatt, Sholay, Yaraana, Toofan Mail and many more.
