Aamir Liaquat becomes President Geo Entertainment

He is currently the Group Editor for religious affairs and writes a daily column for Daily Jang.

Aamir Liaquat has taken up charge as the President Geo Entertainment, reports Daily Jang.

Liaquat took to Twitter to make this announcement.

He is currently working as a Group Editor for religious affairs besides writing a daily column titled Loudspeaker for the Urdu newspaper.

The Ramadan transmission host, (also a magnet for ratings), has some big plans for his new job.

Liaquat’s showbiz career took off from a state channel, but he rose to fame after his show Aalim Online on Geo News. He remained associated with the channel for more than eight years before taking up an important position at ARY Digital Network.

In 2010, he joined ARY Digital Network as Managing Director of QTV and as the Executive Director of ARY Digital. Besides hosting the religious program Aalim Aur Aalim on ARY Digital, he also headed a Ramadan special transmission on the channel.

In 2012 he left ARY Digital to rejoin Geo TV. In January 2014, he started hosting Geo's live game show Inaam Ghar.

In 2014, Hussain joined Express Media Group as president and Group Editor of Daily Express, but left to be part of Geo Network again. He hosted Geo’s morning transmission for quite some time too.

Aamir Liaquat has scored a spot on the 500 Most Influential Muslim Personalities for three consecutive years. He was honoured by Royal Islamic Studies Centre for the year 2015-2016 for being a symbol of religious harmony and an advocate of profound love for the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
