Life is back in the 'City of Lights' as it wouldn't be incorrect to say that Dobara Phir Se brings back life into Karachi. Veteran director Mehreen Jabbar's second flick (after Ramchand Pakistani) is all set for an Eid ul Azha release and the second spell is going in full speed. The cast is elated to be part of the project and so is the director, who feels that it is the right time to get back into the game she temporarily left a few years back.

An ARY Films' production, Dobara Phir Se is produced by Salman Iqbal and co-produced by Jerjees Seja and Mehreen Jabbar; Yes, Jabbar isn't just directing the movie, she is also co-producing it.

"When Ramchand was released, there were just a handful of cinemas in the country and that's why despite its content and plot, it didn't do that well at the box office. The game has changed big time and with the advent of so many cinemas and multiplexes, now is the right time to make a comeback." Mehreen Jabbar said on her return to filmdom.

And what a return it turns out to be. Most of the cast in her film may be just one film old - Hareem Farooq, Adeel Husain, Ali Kazmi, Shaz Khan, and Sanam Saeed (film about to be released) - but they all interact with each other as if they have been friends forever. Ali Kazmi, who left for Canada after the scene was completed turned out to be the most fun-loving person on the set.

"I am glad to be part of a Mehreen Jabbar film because a) I have worked with her on TV and had an amazing experience and b) I always wanted to do a Pakistani film, especially as my dad (Rahat Kazmi) had done a few back in the day. It was fun working in another film right after Deepa Mehta's Beeba Boys which was released last year,' said Kazmi.

The shooting continued on location for a whole day with Hareem Farooq, Sanam Saeed, and Tooba Siddiqui adding colour to the set. The film is also a sort of comeback for Hareem Farooq whose last film Siyaah came a few years back and got her a LUX Style Award nomination.

"Since Siyaah, the game has changed considerably and now people are making quality films. I was surprised when Mehreen offered me the lead role of her film since I wasn't expecting her to call me (laughs). The role is a very good one too and I get to act as well as dance for the first time on screen," said Hareem Farooq

And then there was Adeel Husain, the actor who is over the moon, celebrating the success of his debut flick Ho Mann Jahaan. He plays the main lead opposite Hareem Farooq in Dobara Phir Se and believes that as long as he is enjoying, he will not differentiate between films and TV. He says:

"I am very happy with the way things are turning out. I am glad I opted to work in films and will continue to do so. I don't mind working anywhere, be it on TV or in films; as long the character I am playing has margin to perform."

The film is currently in production under the watchful eyes of two-time Emmy Award winning Director of Photography, Andreas Burgess. Writer Bilal Sami believes that it will be one of those films that will help you understand life better. Since it's all about reconnecting with yourself, hence the name Dobara Phir Se!
