Udaari is a project that started with an intention to educate the masses about a very important issue. It is absolutely fitting that the team, while shooting in Mirpurkhas, indulged in some equally noble activity.

Ahsan Khan, the antagonist in Udaari, posted an album on Facebook showing happy, smiling faces of the village people as they distributed mithai and presented garlands to Mohammed Ehteshamuddin (the director), Ahsan Khan, and Samiya Mumtaz. The small town's people were celebrating because Udaari's team had arranged for an hand pump in their area.

According to Khan, the locals had to walk for miles to fetch water for their daily needs so Udaari's team decided to take the small (but significant) step. It is heartening to see Udaari's team take the initiative because this little gesture will benefit numerous households and lives in that area.

Udaari, a co production between MD Productions and Kashf Foundation, went on air last Sunday and highlights the very important issue of child sexual abuse and a lighter one involving discrimination against people who decide to take up music as profession.
