Based on a true story, Ek Thi Marium is about Pakistan's first female pilot called Marium Mukhtiar who lost her life after her PAF jet crashed in Mianwali during a routine exercise. Urdu 1 and Khoosat along with Umera Ahmed (who penned the script) decided to pay tribute to the young martyr through a telefilm this Defence Day.

Essaying the role of Mukhtiar is Sanam Baloch and the song Pankh Laga Ke has been sung beautifully by none other then the talented Zeb Bangash who is known for the sweetness in her voice. We are so glad that Khoosat and Urdu 1 decided to have Bangash sing the song as she has sung it straight from the heart. Because it is sung with such strong emotions, you almost instantly fall in love with it - the composition, lyrics and of course Bangash's voice are all on point.

Lyrics of the song have been written by Sabir Zafar which capture the theme of the telefilm extremely well. Even though we have just heard the audio, the wordings in itself were narrated so beautifully that you could actually visualize Mukhtiar in different phases of her life.

Composition of Pankh Laga Ke has been done by Shani Arshad, who has also composed for plays like Diyar-e-Dil, Zindagi Gulzar Hai and movies like Actor in law, Jawaani Phir Nahi Aani, Bin Roye, to name a few. He has given the whole song a very inspiring yet soothing tone where the instruments used are all perfectly balanced; only Arshad could have composed such a beautiful song for a hero like Marium Mukhtiar.
