"Nadia will essay the role of a lady health worker while Mehreen will be playing Gohar's second wife," said Angeline.
Looks like the entertainment industry has finally realised its role and responsibility towards the society. After Udaari, Khuda Mera Bhi Hai and Sammi, alot many dramas are being produced with the aim to entertain and educate the masses. And all the credit goes to the producers and television channels who are ready to back these bold and intelligent scripts.
Joining the list of such projects is Urdu1's next titled 'Mujhe Jeene Dou', which will revolve around yet another sensitive topic that is child marriage. While the topic had already caught our attention, the other most interesting reason to get us excited is that it marks Nadia Jamil and Mehreen Raheal's comeback to television. Not just that, it's directed by ace director, Angeline Malik.
Wanting to know more about the upcoming drama, we at HIP got in touch with Angeline Malik and this is what she told us,
"The drama will be dealing with issues related to child marriages. Besides focusing on such a serious issue, it will provide the viewers with quality entertainment."
Talking about the cast Malik disclosed,
"This marks the comeback of two great ladies, Nadia Jamil who will essay the role of a lady health worker and Mehreen Raheal, who will play Gohar Rasheed's second wife "
While we were quite thrilled to hear that this project will also bring actor Gohar Rasheed back to television after Mann Mayal, our excitement reached a new high after finding even Hania Aamir is part of the venture. She's doing a phenomenal job in Titli and we're sure she'll only add more value to 'Mujhe Jeene Dou'.
"Hania plays the role of a girl who is the victim of child marriage and is married off to Gohar Rasheed at the age of 8," Malik revealed.
The play based in Punjab is written by Shahid Nizami and has completed its first spell. The next is set to begin next month.
With pictures posted on various accounts, the drama titled Mujhay Jeene Do looks pretty promising. Mehreen Raheal will be seen playing the role of a villager for the very first time and her getup is so convincing that it seems she's fit for it!
Besides Gohar Rasheed, Nadia Jamil and Mehreen Raheal we will also get a chance to see Sarmaad Khoosat, Samina Ahmed, Ali Tahir and Salman Shahid.
Expected to go on air later this year, this collaboration with John Hopkins has all the right ingredients for the perfect drama.
So with the second spell about to begin soon, HIP wishes the entire team of Mujhay Jeene Do all the best!
