It is with a very sad heart that we are delivering this news; the mad genius as we lovingly referred to him as is no longer amongst us. Veteran musician and guitarist Aamir Zaki passed away today, i.e. 2nd June 2017 in the afternoon.
According to Shahid Zaki, Zaki's elder brother, Aamir had suffered a heart failure this afternoon after a prolonged illness. The family is devastated at the loss. The funeral will be held sometime later tomorrow.
Aamir Zaki was known also for his brief stint with the band Vital Signs. He released his first album Signature in 1995. The guitarist also made his Coke Studio in 2014.
Zaki was last seen performing at the two-day long I Am Karachi Music Festival. He also recently collaborated with Saleem Javed, recreating the singer’s Tum Mere Ho.
