Cannes Lions - The International Festival of Creativity is an event that gathers people from across the world of communications, marketing, entertainment, design and tech. The event takes place in the gorgeous city of Cannes, to find out where the creative industry is headed. Some of the best work from around the world is recognized and rewarded, live. This year is a proud one for our country, as BBDO, Pakistan's top advertising agency, is the only one representing the country at this year's Cannes Lions, taking place from 17-24th June.
The agency started a campaign called Beat Me for UNWomen. It bought to life a TV campaign that went against domestic violence, featuring Sanam Saeed, Aaminah Sheikh and Momina Mustehsan amongst other notable personalities, lending their support in a very hard hitting video. The video shows a woman inviting a man to beat her - but at things she is good at. The campaign aimed to inspire women to reaffirm that they are stronger than they're made to believe.
BBDO is currently present at the festival and their campaign has been shortlisted for two categories so far. HIP would like to wish the entire team all the very best and here's hoping we win so our creativity is recognized by artists from around the world. This could be the ultimate creative accolade for our industry to look up to.
