Ushna Shah's latest venture: The cornrow look

“I’m semi-retired so I can finally change my hair as per my mood and be ME when I am not working."

Cornrows are an ancient and traditional African style of hair grooming, where the hair is braided very close to the scalp, using an underhand, upward motion to produce a continuous, raised row. Ushna Shah has decided to accept this style as her own.

The Bashar Momin beauty can easily pull off anything, from doll-like hairdos to conventional looks. From styling her hair in buns, curls, locks, straight and sleek, she's moved to rocking cornrows.

Choppy waters, watermelon juice, Rainbow nails and corn-rows. Happy Sunday! 🍻

On changing her look Ushna said,

“I’m semi-retired so I can finally change my hair as per my mood and be ME when I am not working. I like going with the flow and I was sick of sporting the Rudaba/Rapunzel locks,” the Alif Allah Aur Insaan starlet shared with HIP.

When asked about when she'd turn back to her original hairdo, she answered candidly, "No idea dude, living in the now."

We totally support her decision on the new look because it’s clearly no weather to be dolled up. What better way to chill in the heat than having a braided, laid back style that keeps hair off of the face. Like Ushna said, it really is too hot for sporting open hair.
