Pakistani entertainment industry is making waves worldwide. Viewers especially in the UK are quite hooked to Pakistani content. Where Punjab Nahi Jaungi had a tremendous opening in UK beating out Baadshaho from Bollywood fair and square, Pakistani television channels also continue to grow in the region.
According to latest news, Hum network is officially not only the viewers’ favourite in Pakistan but is now also leading internationally.
Last week both Hum TV and the recently launched cookery channel Hum Masala were found to be ranked no. 2 and no. 3 on the UK Asia Television, beating some of the most watched Asian channels like Zee TV, Colours, and Sony Entertainment.
Some of the most favourite shows were “Zindagi Gulzar Hai”, “Evening with Shireen” and “Mehboob’s Kitchen”.
“Alif Allah aur Insaan” had the most viewers on Tuesday’s 20:00 time slot leading with 87,400 viewers, beating “Iss Pyar ko kya Naam dun (season 3)” aired on Star Plus at the same prime time with only 57,000 viewers.
Seems like people are tired of unrealistic Saas Bahu sagas on various channels that continue to run for ages. Instead audience has become more interested in watching something they could relate to.
