I saw her sitting there the other day, thinking something. I walked up to her and asked her what was bothering her. She smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes. But then she put me down and changed the subject. But as she got up to walk to the kitchen, I noticed something. My mother seemed to have lost her usual energy, her zest.
Was something bothering her?
It has been two weeks to this and since then, I made a point, to spend more time with her everyday, as much as possible. And do you know what, it seems that she has blossomed. She's the same energetic mom I knew. She's back to being herself and here I am thinking, it's these little things in life that matter most. It's these beautiful gestures, very little in nature but humongous, when it comes to their value.
Real happiness is synonymous to real goodness and it's real goodness that comes from the inside that brings real joy to us. I have a firm believe in this fact now. It's these small gestures such as taking out time for family, putting down your phone every once in a while, and if you're a working parent then spending quality time with your children, taking food to that little kid who comes knocking at your door every once in a while. If you want to experience what real joy in life is, you ought to tap your real goodness within.
And speaking of real goodness inside, it's the new Peek Freans Cake Up ad that teaches us the joy of little things in life. The ad, not only imparts lessons, it very subtly put into one's perspective the importance of reflecting upon what we do. Through yummulicious cup cakes, a mother takes the opportunity to teach her son, real goodness. She builds him up with responsibility, teaching him the values of life and all this while allowing him to enjoy a treat for his goodness.
This is what we call happiness. When you get rewarded for your little things in life. And trust us, the sweet pleasure of reaping good for what you sow is incomparable, just like the taste of Peek Freans new Cake Up. Try out for yourself and experience the values of #realrishtay and #realgoodnessinside!
