Budding actress Naimal Khawar pretty much won our hearts in her debut film Verna in which she played the role of a simple, sweet girl, quite oblivious to the world. While Naimal impressed us quite a bit in the Mahira Khan starrer and otherwise with her charming personality, it was genuinely disappointing to not find her anywhere else after that.

Lo and Behold as now we have found the pretty girl on the sets of Yakeen Ka Safar director Shahzad Kashmiri’s next project which is currently being shot in Chitral!

To know more of the project, that also stars Hania Amir, Shehzad Sheikh and Usman Mukhtar, we got in touch with Naimal herself.

“I can’t reveal much about the story at the moment but you can say it’s a family drama, based on family values, love and relationships,” she hinted on the project which is tentatively named Kainaat and will be produced under MD Productions banner.

But how did she end up in a T.V. drama after her successful silver screen debut, we asked.

“MD Productions wanted me to do a drama with them and I wanted to work with them too so I was reading quite a few scripts; but when this came up, I’ll like the story and my character so I opted for it,” she replied. It was eminent then to ask about her character, and how different it was from ‘Maghul’ of Verna.

Verna fame Haroon Shahid soon to be seen on television screen

“You can say it’s quite different. Maghul was quite a simple girl who did not know much of the world but here my character is strong. Albeit that she’s a simple, contended girl, she’s also strong to take charge of the situations in life, she knows how to handle her life,” said Naimal of her character which will one of the four leads in the drama.

In addition to the difference in her character, Naimal also shared the difference in the shooting spells and her experience of working for a television project.

“It’s very, very different. It’s like double the work here because the days are longer, we have to do more shots, more scenes, it’s entirely different from a movie,” she shared.

"But it's fun at the same time, we all [the cast] are of the same age group so we get along really well. I am making new friends here, and then we have seniors like Irfan Khoosat and Simi Raheel on the sets, so I am learning a lot too. It's a really nice experience overall," she added.

She also shared her experience of working with the director who gave one of the most popular dramas last year. "Shahzad Kashmiri has done Yakeen Ka Safar and you know the kind of work he has done, so it's a great opportunity to work with him. I have a lot of confidence in the way he's taking along the team."

Adding further she said, “I am also hopeful that the kind of hard work we are putting in and the kind of story it is, audiences will be able to relate to each and every character. Every household will have one of the characters from our drama so it’s quite relatable.”

Penned down by Mann Mayal writer Samira Fazil and helmed by aced director Shahzad Kashmiri, Kainaat is on the floors till the end of next month. Once the production is complete, this star-studded serial will air on HUM TV and we’ll see Naimal once again!

Oh and if that’s not enough, let us also inform you that Naimal is currently reading a few scripts for both television and films and once she’s free from the current shoot, we’ll find more of her projects.

“I had taken a break and told everyone I am not working right now, but since this project has started I have started getting offers again but I want to wait and see how this turns out and then I’ll take on my next project,” the budding starlet concluded.
