What we love about our cinema is that in a short span of time, we have been given a vast variety of films to choose from. Now where movies like Jaawani Phir Nahi Aani and Na Maloom Afraad are light hearted and fun to watch, right there something like Cake is another treat for cinema buffs who enjoy serious films and quality content.

Cake was also the first Pakistani film to have its world premiere at the London's Westend and has been receiving rave reviews from Pakistan and internationally, ever since its release earlier this year. Even now, it seems, the movie is not stopping any time soon as once again it gears up to be screened at the Asian World Film Festival from October 24th to November 1st 2018.

With the news announced by Director Asim Abbasi himself, we are thrilled for the team as they deserve all the recognition the film is receiving.

Cake is in fact a co-production between UK and Pakistan and it is because of this reason the film has generated quite an interest the world over, especially with such a intriguing movie which had powerful performances by all the actors on board especially Sanam Saeed , Aaminah Sheikh and Adnan Malik to name a few.

In case you did not know, Cake The Film is also Pakistan's submission at the upcoming 91st Academy Awards in the Foreign Language Film Award category. The film recently opened the 13th Tasveer South Asian Film Festival where it also won Best Feature Narrative as well.

Continuing to make us proud, Cake is a family drama that sees the ailing patriarch of the family reuniting his broken family and how the two sisters put aside their personal differences for their ailing father and mother.

All set to screen at the Asian Film Festival in California along with the likes of Buffalo Boys and Burning amongst others, HIP would like to wish the entire team all the best for another success.
