Pakistan opener Imam ul Haq has been added to the Peshawar Zalmi squad as the 21st player. The opener, who earned the plaudits for his performance in South Africa, will have a chance to showcase his skills in the shortest format.
So far, Imam has not been picked for the national T20 side. He was overlooked in the PSL and replacement draft. However, Zalmi have now added him as the 21st player. Zalmi, has lost Mohammad Hafeez, and Tamim Iqbal, so Imam comes in as cover for the experienced duo. Kamran Akmal and Dawid Malan would perhaps be the regular openers.
Imam, would look to improve his T20 record. In 29 matches he averages 40 however, scores at a strike rate of only 115. Peshawar Zalmi clash with Quetta Gladiators on Friday, in the 3rd match of the tournament.
