Lahore Qalandars have taken a blow to their chances of qualification for the knockout stage of PSL, as their star batsman, AB de Villiers has been ruled out of PSL due to back injury. South Africans have a long history of back problems and getting early retirement from the international games due to their problems of physical exertion.
ABD, had been initially assigned to play nine games for the Qalandars, seven in UAE and two in Lahore. However, due to tension on the borders of India and Pakistan, PSL matches location were shifted to Karachi from Lahore. PCB yesterday announced that all matches of PSL will be played in Karachi.
Tomorrow, PSL will bid adieu to UAE and Karachi will be hosting 1st of the 4 group matches from 9th March. Semi Finals and Finale will also be played at National Stadium Karachi.
Lahore, who has already been hit with injuries to franchise Captain Mohammad Hafeez and Zimbabwean Brendan Taylor will face a challenging task without the former South African living legend. They are in a fight with Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars for the 4th and final spot that would ensure qualification to the next round.
