The inaugural Conference on the Protection of Childhoods (CPC) was held on March 17, 2019, at the Alhamra Arts Center, Mall Road, Lahore to support survivors of the menace of child sexual abuse. The conference emphasized on opening new avenues for their rehabilitation and raise legal awareness. Advocate Mawra Hocane attended and spoke at the conference. She advocated the cause of child abuse and the stigmas/injustice associated with it.

Celebrities in Pakistan not only influence the style and trend among their fans and followers but also considerably impact their way of thinking and their deeds. Often, we get an illusion that stars are way beyond the problems faced by common man and pay no heed in social issues. However, Mawra has always tried to break the stereotypes; Hocane is a star by every right, not just a master in her craft; she is also a wonderful human being.

Extremely heartbreaking to hear all the victims speak at the HRPC at the #StopChildSexAbuse event. By the time I was called to speak my throat was chocked, I had goosebumps & I couldn't breathe. I will do everything in my capacity to support this cause & so should you all!

I'll attend the event tomorrow for this little flower & many others who were crushed before they could bloom. I stand in solidarity with #StopChildSexAbuse because I am ashamed & apologetic for all such incidents. We won't stop till all predators are punished & child abuse ends!

Renowned people expert in their respective fields related to the legal, medical and psychological aspect of this issue & Government officials working in the relevant areas also attended to provide solutions to result in the legislation and law reforms which will eliminate the problem.
