Managing Director of PTV Arshad Khan Removed!

Naeem Ul Haq, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Political affairs tweeted in February and said: “The Prime Minister has full confidence in the Board of PTV and its management and believes PTV should be an independent organization like BBC and the government will take all steps necessary towards that end.”

The things aren’t as simple as Naeem Ul Haq stated as the information minister, Fawad Chaudhry confirmed the news that the Managing Director Arshad Khan is removed from his position and is replaced by THE Director Admin and Personnel of PTV Mr Hassan Immad Mohammedi.
The notification says, “Immad Muhammadi, Director Admin and Personnel PTVC has assigned the look after the charge of the post of MD PTVC with immediate effect and until further orders. The order of acting charge of Arshad Khan as MD PTVC dated 07-11-2018 is hereby withdrawn.”
A case against Arshad Khan's appointment is still in the Islamabad High Court. According to the petitioner, his appointment is against the law. He had requested the court to declare the appointment as illegal. Moreover, Arshad Khan was under fire after fixing his monthly salary to Rs2.2 million while PTV is suffering from heavy losses and is undergoing a deficit of Rs 5.8 billion.
Here is the new selection procedure to appoint chief executives in key public sector enterprises.
There is another aspect to the story as there is a conflict between Naeem Ul Haq and Fawad Chaudhry over this issue but the PM had intervened in this issue between his special assistant on political affairs and minister for information and asked them to settle their difference.
