While it is a known fact that celebrities all over the world undergo surgeries, a handful of them admits it in public. Either they deny it or prefer to not comment on it. Recently, the Pakistani actress, Ghana Ali, appeared on the Ramzan transmission of PTV which is hosted by Aamir Liaquat. When asked about her dramatic transformation, Ghana whole-heartedly accepted to get cosmetic surgery. She said that she did not like her nose, therefore, she decided to get a nose job. Furthermore, she said that in order to lose weight, she took fat loss pills and went on a strict diet. Some pills worked for her and some didn’t but that is the secret of her weight loss. After her interview, Ghana Ali faced a major backlash from the viewers. People came at her for promoting fat loss pills and normalizing cosmetic surgery.

After her interview went viral, HIP contacted Ghana Ali to hear her views on the backlash. She said, “While I cannot lie about taking pills for weight loss or undergoing surgery, I haven’t forced anyone else to follow me. There is nothing wrong in telling the truth and admitting if you have undergone some procedure. Although the majority of the people are praising me for my honesty, if someone is backlashing, I cannot stop them. However, they cannot shake my confidence or their opinion about me cannot affect me in any way. This is my way of thinking and it cannot be the same as other people.”

Furthermore, Ghana said, “I do admit that I should not have blatantly encouraged to use the weight loss pills and should have mentioned consulting the doctors. However, I do not think that it is wrong to suggest fat loss pills to someone if they ask. I get multiple messages from people asking me to recommend them the pills I used and if I am helping them out, I do not consider it wrong. I would consider it spreading awareness.”

While we may have dissimilar opinions, Ghana Ali’s honesty is commendable. In a society where we go out our ways to keep appearances, it takes a lot of guts to be so bluntly honest, that too in public.
