Pakistan U19 edged Sri Lanka U19 by 3 wickets to win the 2nd 50 over contest and level the series 1-1. Pakistan had lost the 1st match by 26 runs.
Bowling 1st, Pakistani bowlers put the Sri Lankans under extreme pressure by their quality bowling. The Sri Lankan side lost 6 wickets for 69. However, Avishka Tharindu with a top score of 54 and Rohan Sanjaya contributing handsomely with 45 took Sri Lanka to respectability. They scored 220 for the loss of 8 wickets, in the 50 overs. Junaid Khan and Akhtar Shah both picked up two wickets each.
Pakistani lost opener Saim Ayub early but 2nd wicket partnership took them to 93. Haider Ali who scored an enterprising 56 fell leg before wicket. This brought a mini-collapse as Pakistan found themselves 131-5.
However, captain Rohail Nazir and Junaid Khan carried on. Pakistan was on the brink when Junaid Khan departed for 30 and finished the game with a ball to spare.
The third 50 over contest will be played on Friday.
