It is no secret that Ali Sethi has made his mark in a short period of time. Initially, he came into the spotlight for his novel, The Wish Maker. However, his true calling was classical music. Ali Sethi took his classical music training from Ustad Naseeruddin Saami and started his official music career by singing Dil Jaalany Ki Baat in Mira Nair’s film, The Reluctant Fundamentalist. After that, there was no looking back for Ali Sethi. Since then, he has recorded several covers, duets and solo song. With numerous concerts all over the world and multiple performances at award shows, Ali Sethi has become a regular part of Coke Studio.

Recently, he released his new track, Ishq which is a moving journey of the heart. Inspired by the poetry of the infamous Indian poet, Shakeel Badayuni, the lyrics of Ishq are written by Ali Sethi and Shakeel Sohail. However, the music is by the Grammy-winning record producer, Noah Georgeson who has collaborated with Ali Sethi. The lyrics of Ishq tell the tale of healing and miraculous awakening after a period of darkness. The mesmerizing lyrics with the soothing and soul-touching voice of Ali Sethi create a magical ballad.

Meanwhile, the video of the song which is directed by Umar Riaz is a symphony of dance and rhythm. The video gives a feel of the dreamy futuristic kingdom where endearing characters reside and Ali Sethi travels through it while on his own emotional journey.
