The fifth edition of Pakistan Super League will be played at the beginning of 2020 and Pakistan Cricket Board has already started to prepare for the biggest cricketing event of the country. The cricket board has already put a lot of effort into bringing the cricket back to the country. Final 8 matches of the PSL edition 4 were played in Pakistan and the good news is that all the matches of the 5th edition of PSL will be played in Pakistan. Moreover, Pakistan will be hosting Srilanka and Bangladesh later this year.
This amazing news was announced by Chairman PCB, Mr Ehsan Mani. He said, “All the franchisers of the PSL have agreed to have all the matches at home and foreign players also have the keenness to play in Pakistan and their participation will add colour and festivity to the event.”
Lahore and Karachi have already hosted PSL matches while Multan and Rawalpindi will have the honour to host the matches of the 5th edition. Rawalpindi will be the home ground for Islamabad United and Multan will be the home ground for Sultans.
The Chairman said, “Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium is ever ready for the PSL matches as it staged its final and semi-finals in the previous editions of the PSL.”
Highlighting the financial aspect of this step, Mani said, “By having matches of the PSL at home, we will be seeing the franchisers of the teams reaping the benefits by earning revenue which they could not because of the matches at the UAE.”
Rawalpindi and Multan stadiums have hosted a good number of international matches in the past and the two stadiums are being renovated for the league. We really hope that the law and order situation in the country remains good so that we can witness the complete PSL season 5 in our home country.
