Pepsi Battle of the Bands is successfully running for the past three years. Originally, Battle of the Bands aired in 2002 on PTV, the new version has brought forward some of the most talented and exceptional music bands. Among these bands, Tamaasha has emerged to be a favourite of the judges and music lovers. Best known for its vivid and vibrant attitude along with their dazzling music, Tamaasha has been stunning everyone with their brilliant performances. Despite getting multiple standing ovations from the judges, Tamaasha did not take the winning trophy home.

Recently, Tamaasha shared a teaser of their upcoming song, Paisa Phenk. In a Facebook post, they explained the concept of the song by saying, “For too long have artists in Pakistan struggled to make a living, to find the right platform, and forced to work for 'exposure'! With the launch of our debut single, Tamaasha calls on the artist community of Pakistan to rise up and get their voices heard! You can be a musician, an artist, a writer, a designer, a photographer, or a practitioner of any art-form whatsoever! Support the #PaisaPhenk movement if you believe you deserve greater opportunities, adequate compensation, or simply believe that artists in Pakistan deserve RESPECT!”

After the release of the teaser, Pepsi Battle of the Bands judge and the super-star, Fawad Khan, came forward to support Tamaasha and Paisa Phenk campaign. He called it a self-titled song and had best wishes for the band. He also said that they have already proven their mettle and have made an amazing song.

Although we have immensely talented and skilful people in Pakistan, opportunities are very few. It is a great initiative by Tamaasha and is highly commendable.
