This is the second time she will be representing this team for the Equal Playing Field initiative, where the World Record Lowest Altitude Football Match was played at the Dead Sea in Jordan last year. Hajra not only represented Pakistan among players from more than 25 countries but also scored a goal at the match. The festival is in Lyon this time alongside the Fifa Women’s World Cup 2019, and the match would begin from 27th June to 1st July.
Hajra said, “It is an absolute honour for me to represent Pakistan for my second world record attempt. I have always aimed to use my passion to inspire others. I have always wanted to turn my passion into an example to encourage those around me to pursue their goals and what makes me happiest is that I will not be the only Pakistani playing the longest football match, there is plenty of national representation at an event with 50+ nationalities.”
Hajra is someone who has a strong belief that Pakistan women football has come a long way over the past 10 years, and she sees a lot of potential in the youth of this country.
The Pakistan women team captain is not just an ordinary footballer; she is also using her platform to raise awareness about mental health. She is helping women to get over their insecurities and accept their flaws and love their own selves which is an amazing thing. Moreover, she aims to open a football academy, especially for girls.
