Ali Abbas has carved a niche for himself within a short span of his career. There is an endearing honesty about the way he approaches his roles that makes him a unique actor indeed. He gets into his characters effortlessly and doesn't shy away in portraying complex unconventional roles. Abbas will next be seen in upcoming drama serial 'Dard Rukta Nahi' that sheds light on complicated family relationships.

Speaking about the plot and his character, Ali said: “The plot revolves around two brothers, their mother and their love interests. The brothers have contrasting nature; one is rational and the other is irrational. I play one of the lead protagonists as the story revolves around five characters. The characters have various shades to their personality and are strikingly different from each other”.

He further added: “I signed the project as I wanted to work with Gohar Rasheed. Besides Mont Blanc Entertainment is a new production house; I wanted to support them with their first venture and they have done a great job in dealing with the subject and production values”. As an artiste, he believes: “Every project has its own soul; I can’t really compare it with my previous work, therefore, all my projects are very close to my heart”.

Dard Rukta Nahi is written by Seema Ghazal, directed by Furqan T Siddiqui and produced by Taimur Tariq of Mont Blanc Entertainment. Apart from Ali, the star cast includes Gohar Rasheed, Feroza Muhammad, Nazish Jahangir, Asma Abbas, Irfan Khoosat, Farhan Ali Agha, Mariam Mirza, Sabiha Hashmi, Beena Choudhary, Rana Majid, Shabbir Mirza and Noor Ul Hira.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has crooned the OST of the play and renowned band Khumariyaan recently released a beautiful track for this drama as well.
