HIP Exclusive: Hajra Yamin Talks about MD Productions’ Next Collaboration with ISPR

Within the past few years, Hajra Yamin is one actress who has consistently proven her acting skills and become a household name courtesy her starring roles in films such as Pinky Memsaab and television serials such as Baandi and the currently on-air Naqab Zan. The actress, known for her spontaneous performances and ability to seamlessly transform into a wide array of characters is going places, with her next major television production set to feature her alongside actors such as Ahad Raza Mir, Osman Khalid Butt, and Zara Noor Abbas.
HIP got in touch with the Teri Raza star for an exclusive tête-à-tête about the high on buzz project. “The serial is a collaboration between Momina Duraid productions and ISPR, and it will be directed by Saife Hassan,” she stated, adding “I am pretty stoked about being on board, and the shoot is expected to commence in the coming few months, around September.”
While the cast and crew understandably cannot divulge many details about the play at this juncture, Hajra did mention that the character she will be essaying will be of a “strong woman” which will put her in an altogether different avatar from the characters she has portrayed previously in many of her successful televisions serials. “My character is that of a journalist, and a very daring one, who is out there to get things done,” she further revealed.
For the role, Hajra will be able to draw on her extensive acting experience in theater. “Nature works in weird ways. I did a theater play in Islamabad for ISPR six years back, and the role has similar shades to that one,” she explained. “However, in the intervening time, I have grown as an actor and feel that I will be able to do it full justice now. So I have my fingers crossed, and really looking forward to the experience!”
With its star-studded cast and a thrilling plot that promises to break from the usual household-centric storylines, this upcoming play is one which we will be watching closely for any further details as they emerge. From the looks of it, it seems that it will be another feather in the cap for Hajra Yamin, and we wish the very talented star all the best for the project and her other upcoming ventures as well!
