Just Recently, Wasim Akram, former Pakistan Captain, and the Swing Champion apologized to Boxer Muhammad Waseem on behalf of Pakistan. The former cricketer has been known to be vocal about serious issues and he doesn't shy away from speaking his mind.

Wasim Akram took to twitter and congratulated the Boxer, adding in an apology on behalf of the country. He said ‘ sometimes we as a country need to be “smacked on the face” with the fist of reality to wake us up and remind us how we should be treating our heroes.’

The 53-year-old also announced that he will pick Muhammad Waseem next time for the airport.

This was in reply to what Muhammad Waseem had tweeted earlier:

“Im not fighting to get istaqbals at the airport. Im fighting so that Pakistan gets good Istaqbal all over the world. Every fight, every camp, every training, every tour, is another opportunity for me to show the boxing world the world class boxing talent Pakistan has.”

Let it be known that Pakistan’s flyweight star, Muhammad Waseem, had knocked down his Filipino opponent, Conrado Tanamor, in the first round of their bout held in Dubai on Friday night.
