The actress stirred controversy on social media when she posted the video of the song and tried to justify it.
Pakistani actress and model Neelum Muneer, who is famous for her roles in Dil Mom Ka Diya, Jal Pari and Wrong No.2, recently posted a video-teaser of an item song that she did for the film ‘Kaaf Kangna’. The film is a romantic drama, written and directed by Khalil Ur Rehman, featuring Sami Khan, Eshal Fayyaz, and Ayesha Omer. It is due to be released on October 25.
The actress stirred controversy on social media when she posted the video and gave a justification, probably the most bizarre one ever, in its caption.
She maintained that this was her first and last time doing an item song for a film. She further added, “I did this song only because this movie is a project of ISPR. Perhaps this is the first and last item song of my life". She concluded it by saying that she is always ready to give her life for Pakistan.
What was meant to be a patriotic post went on to comically suggest that this will be the first and last item song of her life with all credit due to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Her fans and other users on Instagram did not seem very happy with the actress suggesting that an item number was a project of the ISPR. Some went on to suggest that there doesn’t seem to be any gain of this item song to Pakistan, hence the justification seemed absurd, on so many levels.
We love you Neelum and we totally get the "Jazba", but thora ziyada ho gaya!!
