Ali Zafar has been missing in action on the big screen ever since Kill Dil that saw Zafar and co-star Ranveer Singh steal the show with their strong camaraderie. We waited and waited for the celebrated singer and actor to surprise us with yet another interesting Bollywood stint, and though we did get a glimpse of him in an item song for Tere Bin Laden's sequel, we finally have some news on his upcoming film, which will see him in an important role.
Director Gauri Shinde, of English Vinglish fame, unveiled the name of the film - starring Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, and our very own Ali Zafar - as Dear Zindagi. The film was earlier Walk & Talk but it seems that didn't quite sit well with the makers and so they decided to rename it.

According to Deccan Chronicle, the film revolves around Ali Bhatt and her life's experiences as she goes on a journey to find the perfect subject for her film. She meets four men throughout the course of the film and one of these four men is Ali Zafar. The other three are Kunal Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Angad Bedi.

Reports also reveal that Shah Rukh Khan plays the role of a psychiatrist, acts as a coach for Alia Bhatt and brings about a massive change in her life. Zafar will be seen playing the character of a musician, who is as passionate about music as he is about love. Sounds similar to Zafar in real life? Well, yes it actually is and that's probably why Shinde chose Zafar for this role as those of us who've watched English Vinglish know that the director likes to keep her films as close to reality as possible.
The film has mostly been shot in Goa and Mumbai and is expected to release by the end of this year.
