While Pakistan and Dubai rocked to the sizzling performances delivered at the opening ceremony of the Pakistan Super League season 4, it seems someone is not happy with all that went on, on the stage.
Taking to his social media, singer, Zoheb Hassan, called out PSL for using Nazia Hassan's hit song, "Disco Deewane," without permission. Threatening legal action, Zoheb called the matter copyright infringement.
Zoheb Hassan is back in the game, with a vengeance this time that is
"I was shocked to see that a reputable platform like PSL used our track Disco Dewane without our prior permission. Outright infringement of intellectual property should be condemned and I am going to take a legal stand on this one," shared Zoheb.
Disco Deewane, was performed by Shuja Haider and Aima Baig during the opening ceremony of PSL 4.
Talking to the Express Tribune, Zoheb Hassan said, “I am going to make an example out of this. Intellectual property has to be respected and acknowledged across the board.”
He further added how a venture like PSL was important for Pakistan's image and that copyrights needed to be respected across the board.
"This is not only for me or my song. Copyrights need to be respected across the board. Nazia was a very kind soul and she is not here with us today but even she would have been unhappy about it," shared Hassan, who told he had spoken to people at PSL but awaited a clear outcome.
