HIP Exclusive: Mere Pass Tum Ho is a Relatable Story of Every Household - Nadeem Baig

What should we expect when a great director (Nadeem Baig) a great writer (Khalil ur Rehman Qamar) and great actors (Humayun Saeed and Ayeza Khan) come together for a TV drama serial? It would be Magical! We have been super excited to witness the magic ever since “Mere Pass Tum Ho” was announced last year. The much-anticipated play has all the potential to hit the bull eye i.e. apart from Saeed and Baig’s successful track record in films, their last outing for television Dil Lagi was a blockbuster, the fresh pairing of Ayeza and Humayun, and the presence of a strong supporting cast makes the project worth a watch.

We at HIP caught up with the director Nadeem Baig to know more about the play: “‘Meray Paas Tum Ho’ is a beautifully written simple story that revolves around middle-class people. It’s a relatable narrative that sheds light upon the complications of a married couple. I am eager to see the response of the audience as we usually see more women-oriented stories these days. The highlight of the MPTH is that it’s primarily a man’s story. It has multiple flavours to it be it romance, drama, social issue, message or tragedy".

Nadeem was all praises for the lead pair: "Humayun and Ayeza who play husband and wife have given their best performance. The audience will forget their star presence and will actually believe the characters they portray on screen. I feel it will be remembered for a long time".
Confirming the release he said: "The play will be on air in June (two weeks after Eid-ul-Fitr) on ARY. The extensive promotions will kick start post Eid. As of now, the shooting is almost complete we just a five-day schedule left, it has been shot entirely in Karachi".
Speaking about the supporting cast: "Mohammed Ahmed, Hira Mani and Furqan Qureshi will feature in the latter half of the play. Kubra Khan and Marina Khan aren’t part of the project; they just visited us on sets".
Concluding the chat Nadeem gave us an update about his upcoming films: "We have revamped the script of Love you Jatta and might change the title also. At first, we had some objections with the story, therefore Vasay Chaudhry came up with the second draft; I liked it immensely and super confident that the film will be entertaining. The shooting will start this year and probably release later this year or next year. Besides Love You Jatta, I might be shooting another film this year which is an intense romantic film, that’s all I can’t disclose about it".
Mere Pass Tum Ho is produced by Humayun Saeed and Shahzad Nasib under their production banner Six Sigma Plus.
