Ali Zafar Breaks Silence: Humility and Gratitude After Eight-Year Legal Battle Triumph

Pakistani superstar Ali Zafar has finally addressed his recent legal triumph, expressing a profound sense of humility and gratitude following an intense eight-year defamation battle. The 45-year-old singer and actor, who emerged victorious in his high-profile lawsuit against fellow artist Meesha Shafi, shared his sentiments on Instagram on Thursday, April 2, just two days after the Lahore court’s decision on March 31.

“Grateful to God and to everyone who stood by me and by the truth during some testing times in my life,” Zafar began in his heartfelt statement. Despite the conclusive ruling in his favor, which saw Meesha Shafi ordered to pay 5 million rupees in damages, Zafar emphasized that he feels no sense of triumph. Instead, his feelings are solely of “humility and gratitude.”

“Justice has finally been done. I feel no triumph, only humility and gratitude. I hold no ill feelings toward anyone,” he penned, reflecting a desire to move past the contentious period. The legal saga began in 2018 when Zafar initiated the defamation lawsuit after Shafi accused him of sexual harassment, a claim that ignited one of Pakistan’s most prominent #MeToo cases.

Looking to the future, Zafar articulated a wish for closure and peace for all involved. “For me, this chapter is now closed. I pray we can all move forward with grace and peace,” he concluded, signaling a desire for himself and others to leave this challenging chapter behind.
