What’s common between Aijazz Aslam, Faisal Qureshi, and Mahnoor Baloch, besides their age-defying persona? They are still very good when it comes to performing comedy, despite being known for their more serious roles. In ARY Digital’s Ghanchakkar, the three veterans show off their acting prowess by being their most idiotic selves and deliver a power-packed performance. Add Hina Dilpazeer to the list and you have a laugh riot on your hands!

The story revolves around two losers Shani and Mani (Aijazz Aslam and Faisal Qureshi) who can’t seem to get a job because of their lackluster attitude. Enters Zara a beautiful widow from abroad (Mahnoor Baloch) and her kids, and Shani instantly falls in love with her. Their stars collide twice before she hires him as a male nanny for her kids, despite her aunt’s disapproval. The aunt (Hina Dilpazeer) approves of the young man when she finds out he speaks English, the language she is obsessed with. In order to get married to Zara, Shani asks Mani to become his uncle, so that the aunt approves of him but instead, she falls in love with Mani Sr.

There is a twist in the tale that comes at the climax and has more to do with the strange way the females behave. When it does happen, it makes the story all the more interesting, and captivating. Interesting because the three characters have more in common than they imagined, and captivating because they all look good together. Yes, we knew Mahnoor Baloch doesn’t age but the way Aijazz Aslam and Faisal Qureshi have played losers is quite impressive.

Be it Aijazz Aslam’s Mohammad Ali impersonation, Faisal Qureshi’s Waheed Muradesque dialogue delivery and Mahnoor Baloch’s timeless beauty, every scene is linked well to another, and comes out as hilarious. Written by Misbah Ali Syed and directed by Iftikhar Iffi, this Eid Venture is here to make you smile, reflect on your own life and reminiscence about the time when you thought your crazy ideas were worth trying.

Produced by Aijazz Aslam’s ICE Media, Ghanchakkar is here to entertain you even after Eid; watch it when you feel down and it will raise your morale. After all, watching the timeless beauty of Mahnoor Baloch, the overconfident attitude of Aijazz Aslam, the brilliance of Faisal Qureshi and the incorrect English speaking Hina Dilpazeer can do no wrong when pitted against each other. Even the kids who mix toilet cleaner in shampoo and create a mess wherever they go are impressive enough to be considered hilarious, and that’s something only a project that has been handled intelligently can do.
