Sinf e Ahan enters into its third week with an episode even more exciting than the two released a fortnight ago!

Now that our squad of five girls has finally crossed paths at the ISSB center in Gujranwala, the plot has taken an interesting turn. We are also introduced to Dananeer’s character Syeda Sidra in this episode and with her entry, the story has turned all the more humorous to watch.

So much so, we really didn’t want the wholesome episode to come to an end last night. Let’s do a quick review of what paced in Sinf e Ahan this Saturday and what is next to come in the drama.

The episode begins with Rabia (Sajal Aly), Mahjabeen (Kubra Khan), Arzo (Syra Yousuf), Shahista (Yumna Zaidi), and Pariwash (Ramsha Khan) gearing up for the big day- their ISSB test.

Beating their Difference to Form Winning Bonds0

Shahista now has her fiancé Kamil’s (Junaid Jamshed Niazi) assistance and he helps her to escape from home so she can travel to Gujranwala. Mahjabeen has the support of her friend Kumail (Ali Rehman), Rabia has her SSG brother Captain Danyal dropping her off at the ISSB center while Pariwash and Arzoo have full encouragement of their motivating fathers. Together, they all set off to embark on a new chapter in their lives.

Here we also meet Dananeer as Syeda Sidra- an adorable Hijabi in the story who is a soft-hearted soul, hilarious in her innocence, and a reverent Muslim. She quickly forms a bond with Arzoo and finds a peaceful companion in her.

Meanwhile, Pariwash and Rabia too get along with each other and instantly enjoy heart-to-heart conversations. However, the most endearing pair is that of Majhabeen and Shaista who are clearly rocking their bittersweet friendship. Their sweet disagreements turn into both looking out for each other and we are predicting that they will make one strong team in the future.

However, amidst these pairs of friends, there is also a duo that hate each other i.e. of Mahjabeen and Rabia. Hailing from the same school, we realize that both the girls were close friends but an incident from the past affected their friendship. While Mahjabeen believes that Rabia betrayed her, the latter has her heartbroken because she wanted to get her brother betrothed to her friend. Seems like Mahjabeen was already interested in Kumail by that time. Maybe there is more to their sub-plot that we will discover later in the tale.

By the end of the episode, we see the squad of young girls bracing themselves for the psychological and physical tests. While they all appear confident about passing their psychological tests, Sajal is the only one who clears her physical test in time. Mahjabeen and Pariwesh fail to meet their time limit. Let’s see what becomes of Shahista and Arzoo in the next episode.

Sinf e Ahan is quite effortlessly depicting the lives of women of Pakistan, belonging from different backgrounds, religions, and social statuses. Each has their own story and their passion to make their way in Pakistan’s Army is moving us beyond the core.

The scene where the girls depart for ISSB and the fathers’ bid them farewell was a tear-jerker. It surely proved the saying that behind every independent daughter there is a father who trusted her and not the society. More scenes ahead seamlessly portrayed how strangers with contrasting surroundings can bond and develop a heart-warming equation.

A modern Mahjabeen, despite coming from an affluent background and seeming like a self-absorbed person, didn’t bat an eye giving her expensive shoes to a conservative Shahista, who apparently had lost her money to buy joggers for herself. Moreover, the way Syeda Sidra looked out for her Christian friend is a massive message for us all. The character is a devout Muslim but ensured she didn’t enforce her believes on Arzoo and showered her with care throughout. Their bond imparted the message that pure friendship should never be based on religion.

Pariwesh and Rabia too become one duo communicating the message that there is no discrimination done in Pakistan Army amongst those who are from civilian families and those who have an army background.

Shout out to the Pawri Girl ‘Dananeer’ for acing her acting debut in Sinf e Ahan and being a whole mood on screen. She was bubbly, vibrant, and natural. It is clear that she took this massive project seriously, portraying a character so challenging and diverse for a debutante quite aptly.

We cannot wait for next Saturday to see more of the Sinf e Ahan women! Cheers to these lovable scenes and impeccable performances that are making our weekend YouTube sessions all the more enjoyable.
