In such a short time, Sinf e Ahan has won our hearts. We are thrilled that every episode has something new to offer and has significant developments that keep us returning for more.

This week, we witnessed the girls eventually moving on from their lives for a six-month training at Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) at Kakul. With moving scenes and witty dialogues, it was yet another episode that made us laugh and gave us an insight into the training of women cadets at PMA.

Let’s do a quick review of what went down in Sinf e Ahan this Saturday and what is next to come in the drama.

Beginning of a new life

In this episode, we were introduced to Major Usama (Shehryar Munawar) who has been given the responsibility of training the female cadets. A peep into his life tells us that he is married to Kiran (Sonia Mishal) and has a daughter he is protective about. We strongly feel he is a sensitive person, who is passionate about serving the nation and is soft-spoken towards those around him.

He welcomes the female cadets at the PMA and manages the anxious parents, addressing their issues and ensuring that their concerns get resolved.

The Sri Lankan cadet, Nathmy Parreira (Yehali Tashiya) also arrives in Pakistan and receives a warm welcome at the PMA. The place was love at first sight for her and she was packed with enthusiasm to begin a new chapter in her life.

All the parents came to bid farewell to their daughters, the hearts bursting with both pride and worry. We see Shahista’s (Yumna Zaidi) father bonding with Mahjabeen’s (Kubra Khan) Pakhtoon dad and like the daughter, they too connected due to their Pashtoon background.

Rabia’s (Sajal Aly) parents probably believe that their daughter is a weakling and can’t handle the vigorous training in the army. Fortunately, their son Danyal (Usman Mukhtar) consoles them that she will leave the academy, trained as a strong army woman.

Arzoo (Syra Yousuf) is all geared up to burn old boats and wants to leave Noraiz (Asad Siddiqui) for good. Her new friend in life Sidra (Dananeer) is adding all the love and laughter to her life. Seems like this is one friendship that will go a long way.

Meanwhile, it was a relief to see how Major Usama becomes a savior for Pariwash (Ramsha Khan). Seeing the Sardar of the clan dropping his son at the academy caused her major apprehension. She is worried about her father and thinks the Sardar might create trouble for him.

However, her father is brave and takes Major Usama in confidence to help him solve the matter. Immediately, the Major gets the Sardar summoned and quite gracefully makes the Sardar comfortable with a Balochi girl from his village making it to the PMA.

The promo of the next episode shows the training of women kickstarting at the academy. Seems like the girls will not be shown any mercy and will undergo strict coaching that will truly transform them into Sinf e Ahan.

Scenes that moved us

The episode was packed with witty and heartwarming moments including Sidra crushing on Major Usama, Mahjabeen’s large number of suitcases, Shahista trolling Mahjabeen for not knowing Pashto, Pariwash’s father beaming with gratitude at Major Usama and Sidra gorging on PMA’s food.

We loved the references to Alpha Bravo Charlie and Sunhere Din given in the drama. It added an originality to the tale and affirmed to us that the training of the women in the story will be no less than that of men shown in the classic army dramas.

The starry squad of women is giving their best in terms of performances. But in this episode, the fathers stole the spotlight. Parwash’s father gave a moving performance as he moved heaven and earth to ensure his daughter’s safety at the PMA. Similarly, we loved how Shahista’s father stood by her daughter at the PMA, his heart swelling with pride at his feat. Mahjabeen’s father kept aside his stature and class to network with Shahista’s father.

All these scenes left us craving for more and the promo of the next episode had scenes that have lifted our curiosity even higher. Let’s see what’s next to come in Sinf e Ahan.
