Talat Hussain, a legendary figure in Pakistan's entertainment industry, passed away today in Karachi at the age of 83. His daughter, Tazeen Hussain, confirmed the heart-breaking news, which has sent waves of sorrow through the industry and entertainment buffs across the globe. Fans of the veteran star are mourning the loss of this iconic actor, calling it an irreplaceable loss.

Over the decades, he became a household name, celebrated for his remarkable performances in numerous television dramas and films. From Pakistani films like Chirag Jalta Raha, Ishara to popular international classics such as Import - eksport (Norwegian film), The Jinnah and a Turkish film Malkoçoğlu Ölüm Fedaileri, Mr Hussain had a number of accolades under his name. He was most recently seen in blockbuster film Actor in Law, Chupan Chupai and Project Ghazi. He also worked in many dramas including Arjumand in 1970 on PTV, Ansoo, Bandish, Des Pardes, Tariq Bin Ziad, Eid ka Jora, Fanooni Latifey and Hawain.

Born in 1945 in Delhi, India, Talat Hussain embarked on his illustrious acting journey in 1967 with Pakistan Television. He also played a huge role in reviving the art of cinema and theatre in Pakistan and was an integral part of the National Academy of Performing Arts in Karachi.

Mourning the great loss, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar, Federal Minister for Privatisation Abdul Aleem Khan, and Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bukhari expressed profound grief over Hussain's passing. They highlighted his exceptional acting skills and memorable dialogue delivery, noting that his death has left an irreplaceable void in the entertainment world.

Hussain's career spanned television, film, and theater, earning him the prestigious Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his contributions to the arts in 2021 and he also received the Pride of Performance Award in 1982.
