We all know how the Indo-Pak conflict has gripped the entertainment industry on both sides of the border. While art knows no boundaries and powerful projects have resulted out of cooperation on both sides of borders; the much heated political and diplomatic ties put a dent on the ties. However, some talented intellectuals in India and Pakistan believe in the power of love and unity. They team up to produce stellar work and one such example is the back-to-back collaborative work between India’s Zee5 and the entertainment fraternity in Pakistan. Consequently, Umera Ahmed and Haseeb Hasan’s much recent web series ‘Dhoop Ki Dewaar” is all set for a screening on Zee5 and we cannot be more excited about this grand Ahad-Sajal starrer. The trailer is out and it’s all that the internet is talking about. From critics to publications, bloggers to fans; the new Zee5 web series is making waves for all the right reasons. In fact, the trailer has not only been trending in Pakistan, India and Bangladesh are equally abuzz about the project!Check out the trailer of ‘Dhoop Ki Deewar’ (DKD) below.

Beyond an Indo-Pak Love story

We have witnessed endless projects on both sides of the border that address the love stories of Indo-Pak natives. However, DKD aims to break clichés. While it does discuss how the war between the two nations has torn apart families, it goes a step ahead to portray how post-war anguish amidst the families turns into a tale of friendship, love, and unity. The plot revolves around Vishal Malhotra (Ahad) from India and Sara Sher Ali (Sajal) from Pakistan. Both their fathers get martyred in an Indo-Pak battle, resulting in deep hatred and animosity between both families. But here comes the twist! The power of the internet brings them together, shifting their perspective from sentiments of resentment to feelings of love. However, we all know how ‘Pyaar' between subcontinent lovers can be a matter of life and death! The trailer’s end made us sincerely hope that we get to see a happy ending, hearts being united and love winning above everything.

Sajal and Ahad prove that they are the best on-screen pair

The husband-wife duo of Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Aly have worked their magic all over again in DKD. These two boasts a charm none can challenge and none can beat them on screen. We all know how their chemistry is like when they share a screen frame, unitedly dazzling the screen, locking eyes, and rocking their deep romantic equation. However, in the web series, while they are not sharing one frame and are shown to be miles apart, the couple ensures their chemistry is palpable and they radiate the sweetness their character demands.

Both looking young and adorable sweethearts madly in love, Ahad and Sajal reminded us of Yaqeen Ka Safar days when they shook social media with their lovable scenes. Later, we saw the same stability in their on-screen relationship in Ye Dil Mera. Without a doubt, this will be even a bigger project of the duo as they are bound to strike a chord and make waves worldwide by featuring in this ground-breaking project.

Umera Ahmed’s pen behind DKD is bound to make it a success!

Has there been a story penned by Umera Ahmed that didn’t prove to be the talk of the town! We think not. She is blessed with a mind that can weave the most profound stories that stick with audiences for a lifetime. We all remember how her masterpiece ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai’ made a splash in India. Bollywood big-wigs like Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, and many more were all praises for the drama. Most importantly, her recent work ‘Alif’ is one of the most beautiful stories Pakistan has seen. We are proud of her and believe that she is going to make the whole country even more proud once DKD gets released. The trailer is showing how the web series is not your typical subcontinent love-war saga. Its narrative is contemporary, features new-age lovers, and the will to make a difference by ending enmity once and for all. Get ready to be blown away and addicted to DKD! The credit will surely go to Umera for it.

Haseeb Hasan’s masterful direction adds beauty to the web-series

Haseeb is a veteran of two decades and has delivered hits like Diyar-e-Dil, Mann Mayal, and the much-recent Alif. These have been very diverse projects, but had some things in common: they were aesthetically beautiful, were a great success, and left a mark on the audiences.

His work is still watched, cherished, and lauded. He is, hands down, amongst the best director in the industry and never fails to leave critics and drama aficionados mesmerized. If truth be told, we couldn’t get enough of Haseeb’s visually appealing and masterful shots in the trailer. We are craving to see more, appreciate more, and delve into the grandeur of his work. The director has put his heart and soul in DKD and it is apparent just from the mere 2-minute trailer Comprising a stellar supporting cast of Samiya Mumtaz, Zaib Rehman, Savera Nadeem, Samina Ahmed, Manzar Sehbai, Raza Talish, Aly Khan, and Jaffar, DKD is all set to hit Zee5 by the end of June.

We are more excited about how our stars will be appreciated, loved, and praised in India all over again. Good luck to the DKD team!
