Let’s face it, in these tough times we all need a good laugh! Fortunately, it was yet another day of jam-packed entertainment with the second round of telefilms at ARY Digital.

On Day 2, Hina Altaf, Agha Ali, and Maria Wasti took over our screens with ‘Shaadi Hai Impossible’. Filmi, fun and full of savage dialogues; the festive feature was just the right dose of zippy and zany that we couldn’t stop ourselves from laughing our hearts out!

Directed by M. Iftikhar Iffi, the supporting cast was as strong as the leads, featuring Noor-ul-Hassan, Saba Faisal, Kashif Mehmood, and others. Let’s take a quick review of what went down in the roller-coaster ride of hilarity in ‘Shaadi Hai Impossible’ last night!

The Plot

In desi families, love marriages are always a matter of life and death! Either there is a villain who doesn’t let the lovebirds unite or there is parental pressure that becomes a major obstacle. In ‘Shaadi Hai Impossible’, we see a hilarious take on the matter with our heroine finally enjoying a ‘Jaa Simran Jaa, Jee Lay Apni Zindagi’ alongside her hero with all the sass and fun.

The story introduces us to our firecracker of a heroine ‘Zaini’ (Hina Altaf), a bubbly, high-spirited young girl in love with a guy next door ‘Saifee’ (Agha Ali).

Crazy in love, the sweethearts are eager to be united and are determined to make their way out of any hurdles that might cross their filmy path. Saifee’s sister Javeria (Maria Wasti) plays a beautician in the story and is totally against their marriage.

She despises the neighbors and wants her brother to be settled with their maternal cousin. Meanwhile, Zaini’s parents ( Saba Faisal and Noor-Ul-Hassan) give in to their daughter’s wish to marry her off to Saifee but equally want to abase Javeria.

In a typical Pakistani drama, we would have seen the leading pairs succumbing to pressure and sacrificing their love to honor the respect and wishes of their family. But our smart, daredevil of a couple formulate a clever plan to achieve what they want!

Together with Zaini’s parents, they hatch a scheme to perform a quick Nikkah ceremony while sneakily inviting Javeria and surprising her with the sudden nuptials. The scheme backfires and creates a divide between the families. But the adventurous pair are determined to make their love story come true!

With another idea in hand, they try to fool Javeria again to agree to the marriage. Well, agree she does, but this time with a twist that ends up with Saifee going to the hospital.

Hina Altaf and Agha Ali work their magic all over again!

With a talented cast, satirical bites, and a nattily funny script; Shaadi Hai Impossible kept us hooked till the end despite the plot of making a love marriage be a successful union! The story felt fresh and had humor in all the filmy twists of events.

It was apparent that the cast themselves enjoyed working in a comedy-drama, taking a break from the cliched stories that have gripped our screens. We mostly see these characters donning serious characters and it was like a breath of fresh air to watch them unveiling their shenanigans in the tale.

Maria Wasti always exhibits an A-list performance and was in her ultimate fiery mood as Javeria- the pseudo-make-up artist.

Hina Altaf had never looked cuter and her carefree avatar gives her the liberty to display her mischievous side on the screen.

Complimenting her was Agha Ali who gave us quite a laugh with his comical facial expressions and laid-back style. Their chemistry was adorable and electrifying, infusing their charm together to make us roll with laughter.

Fingers crossed for the Eid third-day lineup of telefilms. Hopefully, it will be as great as the plays on the first two days!
