Neeli Zinda Hai on ARY Digital is on fire!

Starring Urwa Hocane, Mohib Mirza, Sonia Mishaal, and Jinaan Hussain in leading roles, the drama is directed by Qasim Ali Mureed, written by Adeel Razzaq, and produced by Six Sigma.

Weaved around black magic, a dead girl, and major supernatural activity, the pot seems to be rightly baked to provide horror and suspense in the story.

Let's take a quick review of what happened last night in the drama.

Amaan gets into trouble

The story this week opens with Dilawar (Tahir Jatoi), the hermit, feeding a cock and bull story to Sumbul (Sonia Mashal) about Neeli (Urwa Hocane). He portrays him as an evil woman that lived in the house that killed all the sons of the family so she gains control of the property. But eventually, she gets killed by her husband who sets her on fire once he realizes what his wife has been up to.

He also reprimands Sumbul that Minal (Tehreem) needs to be in their protection as Neeli has eyes on her and wants to take full control of her. His visit to the house is interrupted as Neeli overhears everything and makes herself visible to attack Nagina (Jinan Hussain) and Dilawer.

Panicked, Dilawer runs for his life only to get encountered by Amaan (Mohib Mirza) at the house entrance. Consequently, Amaan is furious to see all that is going down at his home. He gets angry at Sumbul, warns Dilawer to leave his family, and kicks an unconscious Nagina to fire her from the job.

Sumbul saves Nagina from losing her job. But the damage has been done. Aman now hates Sumbil, believing she is the one who called Dilawer to the house. He wants to get away from Sumbul and protect Minal from her. He takes her out at night at his parent's home, only to get ambushed later by the goons who want to take over his property.

They leave Minal all alone in the car, stranded in the middle of the road. The poor kid is vulnerable but surprisingly an old man (Osama Tahir) keeps a watchful eye on her. The twist in the tale is he is Neeli’s husband that we have seen in the flashbacks. He is surely alive. Did Neeli send him to protect Minal? We are extremely curious to find out.

Sumbul and Amaan’s father ( Syed Mohammaed Ahmed) vie hard to save our hero from the goons. They try to accumulate money by selling the house, only to know that it’s impossible. Amaan’s mother (Kinza Malik) and her toxic attitude make it worse for Sumbul. She constantly accuses her of bringing bad fate into her son’s life. But Neeli decides to teach her a lesson. Being invisible, she tries to haunt her as with her shenanigans. Ultimately, Aman’s father sells his home. Seeing Sumbul in pain, he takes the big decision to save his son and free him from the thugs. This means, that Aman’s mother, father, and sister will be now living in the haunted house.

All in all, the bond between Neeli and Minal strengthens. She acts as a guardian angel for the special child, telling her she loves her and will never let harm touch her. The promo of the next episode shows how Neeli creates havoc for the new residents in the house but dons the face of Sumbul instead of revealing herself in front of them. Eventually, poor Sumbul will undergo more mental torture of her in-laws.

The paranormal ride gets more spooky

As the story is progressing, Neeli Zinda Hai is powering up the suspense quotient with some of the scenes giving us goosebumps and making us feel what the characters are going through. We shrieked with terror when Neeli’s dead body rose in its shroud. Similarly, we felt Minal’s pain when she was locked all alone in the car.

The credit goes to all the characters- Mohib Mirza, Urwa Hocane, Jinaan Hussain, Syed Mohammad Ahmed, Baby Tehreem, and Kinza Malik for their stellar performances and making all the paranormal activity look real. We believe that Neeli Zinda Hai is one of the best horror dramas of its time. Those who are not watching it- are missing out on a worthwhile watch!
