Haseena Moin’s Ankahi was earlier adapted for theatre as a musical play. It’s now ready to premiere as ‘Ankahi 2020’. The first look of the musical has been revealed, and it sure looks promising!

Directed by Dawar Mehmood, this Kopykats production is all set to premiere on March 25 at the Karachi Arts Council. Dawar took to social media to announce this:

It is not Ankahi. It is my tribute to Haseen Moin’s Ankahi; 25th March everyone!

Amna Ilyas plays the protagonist, Sana Murad, originally played by Shehnaz Sheikh.

According to reports, the musical version has an ensemble cast, and the 1982 version has been altered to make it relevant to 2020. The cast of Ankahi 2020 comprises Sohail Hashmi, Waqar Ali, Taha Humayun, Ali Sheikh, and Shafqat Khan.

Since this modern version of Ankahi is a musical, the choreography is being handled by Wahad Shah, while Hunny Haroon is the appointed art director.
