Pakistan Super League 5 opened yesterday, and it was soon followed by internet trolls. While some bashed host Ahmed Godil for boring the audience, others pointed fingers at singer Aima Baig for having copied Ariana Grande’s style.

But, one thing that came out positive, and was embraced with excitement by the entire nation was the announcement of a biopic of the legendary cricketer, Wasim Akram.

The biopic will cover the professional side of Akram’s life, while also covering the personal aspects of it. Directed by Adeel Niazi, and co-produced by Arslan H.Shah, the biopic will be titled “Akram: An Era.”

Wasim Akram had something to share post this announcement:

The fact that people are making films on cricket and, more importantly, sports stars, is not only a good sign for the film industry but for the sport as well. Movies are a unique portal to engage a whole new generation. I am looking forward to participating in the production and I cannot wait to see how this pans out.

The production of this biopic is anticipated to begin by the end of 2020.
