The King of comedy, Amanullah has passed away at the age of 70. The comedian had been suffering from lung and kidney disease for the past few years. He spent the final days of his life in a private hospital in Lahore, where he breathed his last.

Amanullah was one of the finest comedians Pakistan had, with a world record of 860-day night theatre plays, and a Pride of Performance awarded to him in 2018.

He had appeared in several late-night shows including Khabarnaak on Geo News. Before his death, he was working with a private channel's program Khabarzar.

President Dr. Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan, and notable artists from showbiz have expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of a true gem.

Today, Pakistan lost a real asset of the stage, theater and drama industry. Thank you for making us laugh so hard. Forever indebted! May his kind soul rest in peace.
