In response to the tirade of abuse between Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar & Marvi Sarmad, Geo Entertainment officially announced the suspension of all recent contracts with the playwright.

Soon after the interview went on-air, netizens were quick to respond. Celebrities condemned the way KRQ handled the situation on national television and many decided to step away from projects related to his name. Iffat Omer announced separation from ‘London Nahi Jaunga’ following this incident. The film is currently in the making, featuring Humayun Saeed, Kubra Khan, and Mehwish Hayat.

Geo Entertainment released a press statement on Thursday to announce the suspension of ongoing drama and film contracts with KRQ until he apologizes for the use of inappropriate language.

This was a non-exclusive agreement, as he has with several other Tv channels. We believe that everyone has the right to express their opinions and a culture of healthy debates should be encouraged. However, such debates should be held within the norms of decency and ential respect for one another. Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar not only used abusive language against a woman, but also refused to accept his mistake and apologize for it.

Well, Khalil Ur Rehman thinks he owes Marvi no apology. He took to his Twitter claiming that he won’t apologize to satisfy a few ‘foreign feminists’.
